CRESTWOOD, IL — Despite a federal indictment hanging over his head, Lou Presta won his third term as Crestwood's mayor in Tuesday's election, according to unofficial vote tallies.

Presta faced return challenger, attorney John Toscas, in the April 6 election. Presta won the backing of the village's businesses by giving residents vouchers that helped keep village residents afloat during the depths of the pandemic.

It was a clean sweep for Presta's United Party of Crestwood party as well, with the clerk and trustee candidates winning village board seats.
