Employee Gets 'Speedy Cash' By Stealing It: Police
Police said surveillance video showed the Justice woman taking $48,000 from Speedy Cash in Alsip.
ALSIP, IL — A Justice woman is being sought for allegedly stealing money from her employer. Alsip police were in court Wednesday seeking a warrant for 23-year-old LaGenesis Scott, who has been charged with felony theft.
An Alsip police officer told Cook County Judge John Mahoney that on July 27, Scott stole $48,000 cash from Speedy Cash, a loan and tile company located at Cicero Avenue and 111th Street. The officer said that surveillance video showed Scott taking the money.
Police have been looking for Scott ever since. The officer when to her last known residence in the 8600 block of South 87th Street in Justice. He’s also called all of her known phone numbers and talked to her family. Scott has not been located.

The judge issued a warrant for Scott’s arrest in the amount of $50,000, equal to the cash police said was stolen.
