ALSIP, IL — A new chicken joint is opening in Alsip. Harold’s Chicken Shack will throw open its doors at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at 11817 S. Pulaski Road.

Harold’s is an institution, especially on Chicago’s South Side, and is considered by many to be the “king of fried chicken.” The chain was founded in 1950 by the late Harold Pierce. Harold’s specializes in down-home comfort food, including chicken wings, chicken breasts, perch, coleslaw, fries and other sides.

The restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
