Man Found In Parking Lot With Fatal Gunshot Wound Identified: ME
A 22-year-old man found with a fatal gunshot wound in Crestwood has been identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner.
CRESTWOOD, IL — A man who died of a gunshot wound after he was found Thursday afternoon in a parking lot in Crestwood has been identified as 22-year-old Jason Edward Ahern, Jr., of Downers Grove. The Cook County Medical Examiner attributed the cause of death to a gunshot wound to the head. Ahern’s death has been ruled a homicide.
Around 3 p.m. Thursday, Crestwood police received a call of shots fired in the 5700 block of West 128th Street. When officers arrived they found a man down in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. The man, later identified as Ahern, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The Southwest Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, comprised of investigators from surrounding communities, has been deployed. Police were combing the area for witnesses Thursday evening.

- a white Mercedes SUV
- dark-colored Dodge Durango with tinted windows
- a silver Infinity
- and a Nissan Altima
Police are asking residents in the area of 128th and 129th streets, Carriage Lane, Park Place and Central Avenue to review home security video for the vehicles of interest. Soderlund said police have already received several calls from residents with video.
