Richard E. Koopman, passed away at his Alsip home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of Kathleen, nee McConville. Loving father of Stacy (Jason) Lambin, Jennifer (Mike) Brower, Rachel (George) Slawson, Stephanie (Matt) Heim, and Curtney (Anna) Koopman. Cherished son of Barbara and the late Curtney. Adored grandpa of Justin, Jack, Andrew, Mya, Riley, Georgie, Teagan, Tommy, Sadie, Zach, Lily, and Sophia. Dear brother of Ken, Bill, Paul, Debbie, and Cindy. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Retired as Fire Chief, and later Financial Director, from the Garden Homes Fire Protection District after over 40 years of dedicated service.
