Around 10:10 p.m. Oct. 15, Alsip police officers responded to a shooting at Wendy’s, 11100 S. Cicero Ave. When police arrived, they found a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the leg. The teen employee was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
The prosecutor said Willis brought the uncased 9mm handgun to work. He removed the magazine and handed the gun to his young coworker. When she handed the gun back, the gun discharged. The girl ended up getting shot in the leg. The incident was captured on security video.

After the gun fired, police said Willis hid the gun in the restaurant. Officers were able to find the gun after reviewing Wendy's security video. The gun was uncased and not allowed to be on the premises, the prosecutor said.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Willis was a manager at the restaurant.
Willis has no prior criminal background except for traffic violations. The girl underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
“I bet she was really impressed,” the judge said before setting bail.
Willis is due back in court Nov. 12 in Bridgeview.
