$7.5M Gold Coast Mansion Is Chicago's Highest Selling Home In 2017

The 6-bedroom East Bellevue Place home features 5 outdoor decks, a 3-car heated garage, a custom wine cellar and other amenities.

CHICAGO, IL — A Gold Coast mansion sold for $7.5 million Monday, making it the highest-selling home in the Chicago area for 2017. The sale of the six-bedroom house on East Bellevue Place beat out a Grant Place residence in Lincoln Park that had earned that distinction in January when it sold for $7.2 million, according to Crain's Chicago Business. The buyer's identity has not been made public yet, the report added.

The mansion was put on the market in February, and the original asking price was for nearly $9 million before it was relisted for $7.999 million in July, according to realtor.com. The sellers — Bart Przyjemski and Anita Lisek, who run Noah Properties — bought the house for $3.1 million in 2014.

New construction on the home was finished in 2016, and the space is expansive at more than 10,000 square feet. It's also loaded with luxurious amenities, such as a media room with a 120-inch, dropped-down screen and projector; five outdoor decks, including a top deck outfitted with a fire pit and two grilling stations; a sitting area with three wet bars; a sauna; a gym; a custom wine cellar; and smart home automation throughout. Despite holding this year's title for highest-selling home, the Bellevue Place mansion doesn't come close to the all-time record for single-family houses. That still belongs to the 2006 sale of current Illinois gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker's mansion for $14.5 million. And the sale of his Gold Coast home even pales in comparison to the record-holder for all residences: a Park Tower penthouse condo that sold for $18.75 million in 2015.

Currently, a Lincoln Park mansion is trying to capture the sales distinction. The three-story, 25,000-square-foot home at 1932 N. Burling St. went on the market last December for a staggering $50 million. The asking price alone holds the record as the highest ever for a residential property in the Chicago area. The previous title holder was the $32 million list price for the entire 89th floor of the Trump International Hotel and Tower, which eventually sold for $17 million.
