This sprawling estate on Chicago's Greenwood Avenue was built in 1829 by the Goodman family — the same family that established the city's Goodman Theatre. The theater was created as a tribute by the parents of playwright Kenneth Sawyer Goodman, who died in the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918.

While the 17,769 square foot home on Greenwood Avenue has a lot of history, it's had a recent update: Master craftsmen from Europe were brought in to complete a three-year, $4.5 million restoration.
