New: 17 Illinois Cities Rank Among Nation's 100 Safest

NeighborhoodScout has released their ranking of the Top 100 safest cities in the United States, and 17 Illinois cities are on the list.

The criteria used for the rankings are the number of crimes reported to the FBI to have occurred in each city, and the population of each city. You can read more about the group's methodology here.
