'Real World' Chicago House Up For Sale

No asking price has been set for the Fulton Market property, which was the home base for the MTV reality series in 2014.

CHICAGO, IL — The Fulton Market property used to house the cast of MTV's "The Real World" in 2014 is up for sale after leasing attempts were unsuccessful. The New York-based owner will now try to capitalize on the neighborhood's growing popularity.

Investor Gilman Management is selling the vacant buildings at 1100-1114 W. Randolph St., only five years after buying the 9,700 square-foot property, according to Crain's Chicago Business. The buildings are located across the street from McDonald's newly moved headquarters in an area with surging property values.

Brokerage Mid-America Real Estate Group has been hired to sell the property, but no asking price has been set for the buildings, Crain's reports. Gilman bought the property for $2.7 million, the report added.

Before "Real World," popular nightclub Bon V. had occupied the building used as the cast members' house. Bon V. closed in 2012.

Some of the seven roommates also worked at Red Kiva while filming the reality series' 13th season. Red Kiva closed following a fatal shooting in 2015.

This location wasn't the only time "The Real World" was in Chicago. The series first came to the city in 2001, and the cast lived in a building at 1934 W. North Ave., in the Wicker Park neighborhood.
