These are 25 Best and Worst Small Cities in Illinois for 2016

If the laid-back lifestyle of a smaller city is more your style, you’ll want to take a look at a new ranking by the personal finance website WalletHub of the nation’s best small cities.

To identify the small cities in which you can enjoy both good quality of life and affordable living costs, WalletHub’s analysts compared 1,268 U.S. cities with a population between 25,000 and 100,000.

A total of 30 indicators were used to determine a small city’s livability score, ranging from school quality and housing costs to crime rates and the number of restaurants per capita.

We’ve pared down WalletHub’s results to focus on the state's 25 best- and worst-rated small cities on the list.
