A new WalletHub study ranks the best small cities in the U.S. based on quality of life and affordability.
Big city living isn’t for everyone. There might be more to do, but it can get crowded, costly and chaotic at times. If the laid-back lifestyle of a smaller city is more your style, you’ll want to take a look at a new ranking by the personal finance website WalletHub of the nation’s best small cities.
To identify the small cities in which you can enjoy both good quality of life and affordable living costs, WalletHub’s analysts compared 1,268 U.S. cities with a population between 25,000 and 100,000.
A total of 30 indicators were used to determine a small city’s livability score, ranging from school quality and housing costs to crime rates and the number of restaurants per capita.
