2 DUI Arrests, 17 Seatbelt Citations From Extra Patrols: Police

LOCKPORT, IL — As a result of its St. Patrick's Day enforcement, the Lockport Police Department said it made two DUI arrests, issued 17 seatbelt citations and 24 other citations.

“Impaired drivers are a risk to everyone on the road,” police said. “We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason – to save lives.”

The Lockport Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and
highway safety partners for the St. Patrick’s Day campaign. The law enforcement effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
