Beanie's Candy Store And Ice Cream Opening In Lockport
Beanie's Candy Store and Ice Cream, 1011 S. State St., is planning to open July 10.

LOCKPORT, IL — A new candy and ice cream store will soon be opening its doors in downtown Lockport. Beanie's Candy Store and Ice Cream, 1011 S. State St., is planning to open July 10, owner Gina Rafalski told Patch.
Gina and her husband, Chris, own the new store, which is named for their daughter, Angelina's, nickname.
The old-fashioned, mom-and-pop store will offer hard-packed ice cream, malts and shakes, sundaes, candy, specialty chocolates, gummies, Albanese gummi bears, and other types of "candy you got when you were a kid," Gina said.

"We are so fortunate to have family support," Rafalski said.

Gina said the City of Lockport has been so welcoming, and the couple can't wait to be part of the downtown business community.
"We're extremely blessed and excited to be a part of it," she said, adding that they can't wait to bring their store to the families of Lockport.
The Rafalskis chose Lockport for their store in part due to the historical value of the downtown.
"Our vision of an old-school candy and ice cream store just fit so well in the downtown area," Gina said.
Hours for the new store will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
You can learn more about the store on its Facebook page.
