Event Details
In honor and celebration of the City of Lockport’s recent designation as the 2021 Strongest Town in America, the award-sponsoring organization will be holding a special one-time community event. Strong Towns Founder and President Charles Marohn will share a special message on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 7 p.m. from City Hall, 222 E. 9th Street, 3rd Floor.

The presentation will cover the basics of what it means to be a Strong Town and a strategic approach toward financially resilient communities. The organization believes “Strong Citizens” from all walks of life – citizens to leaders, professionals to neighbors, and everyone in between – can and must participate in a Strong Towns approach. Residents and community members are invited to attend the in-person event at City Hall. Space is limited to the first 75 guests to register online.

For those who are interested in participating but are unable to attend in-person, the presentation will be available to watch live on the City’s YouTube Channel, Lockport TV and on LCTV, Comcast Channel 6 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99.
Strongest Town in America Contest
Earlier this year, Lockport was one of 16 finalists selected by Strong Towns staff from a number of applicants. After four rounds of competition and more than 33,000 unique votes cast, the City of Lockport was named the 2021 Strongest Town in America.
