Homer Glen Village Board: Newcomer Candidates Projected To Win

HOMER GLEN, IL — Three newcomer candidates are the projected winners of the Homer Glen Village Trustee race, according to Tuesday's unofficial results. Dan Fialko, Jennifer "Norma Rae" Trzos-Consolino and Rose Reynders are the projected winners against three incumbent candidates.

Tuesday's election results are unofficial until certified by the county on April 27. Provisional Ballots cast on Election Day and all late Vote By Mail Ballots postmarked by Election Day will be counted at Provisional Count on April 20, according to the county clerk.

16 out of 16 precincts reporting:

  • Broque Backal - 1,082
  • Dan Fialko - 1,687
  • Jennifer "Norma Rae" Trzos-Consolino - 1,470
  • Carlo Caprio - 1,237
  • Keith Gray - 1,254
  • Rose Reynders - 1,613

Backal, Gray and Caprio are current trustees.

Backal was appointed as a village trustee in 2020. He was previously the chairman of the plan commission.bCaprio was also appointed as a village trustee in 2020. He had previously served on the board from 2015 to 2019, but lost re-election in 2019.

Gray, Caprio and Backal ran together, and cited priorities of enhanced quality of life, open and honest government, strong fiscal management, and quality development for the community.

Consolino, Fialko and Reynders ran on the People Not Politics slate. According to their Facebook page, the slate is against local municipal taxes, believes in controlled density, and true transparency and less regulation.
