Home Uninhabitable After Fire In Unincorporated Lockport Township
There were no injuries reported and the Red Cross was also called in to assist the displaced resident.

LOCKPORT, IL — A fire on Thursday in unincorporated Lockport Township has left a home uninhabitable, according to a release from the Lockport Township Fire Protection District. The fire was reported at 8:02 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Connor Avenue.
Fire companies found a small, one-story home with heavy fire showing from the front of the home, the district said. The fire was quickly knocked down and brought under control, but it caused extensive damage to the entire house and left the home uninhabitable.
The resident, who was home at the time, was able to evacuate prior to the fire district's arrival. The district said there were no injuries reported and the Red Cross was also called in to assist the displaced resident.

The fire was upgraded to a Full Still which brought additional assistance to the scene from
East Joliet and Northwest Homer fire departments while Homer, Lemont, Minooka, Plainfield, and Romeoville provided coverage in the Lockport stations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Lockport Fire Investigators.
