Homer District 33C Girls Bowling Team Wins IESA State Finals

The girls bowling team placed first; while the boys team placed fourth.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The boys and girls bowling teams of Homer District 33C had a great weekend at the IESA State Finals. The girls team won the competition, coming in first with 7268 points. The boys team came in fourth with 7057 points.

The finals were held April 12-13 at Town and Country Lanes in Joliet, according to the IESA website.

Individually, several students also placed at the competition. For the boys team, eighth grader Nate Arient placed seventh with 1982 points. For the girls team, seventh grader Paige Matiasek placed second with 2104 points; and eighth grader Cassie Kontos placed eighth with a score of 1838.

The girls team at the tournament consisted of Cassie Kontos, Kadie Kontos, Matiasek and Lauren Bacys. The boys team consisted of Arient, Noah Gucwa, Jason Laba, Ryan Muhr and Hunter Phillips.
