The fiscal year 2020/21 budget includes funding for the installation of a security system network, and the first roll-out of the system was intended for Heritage Park, according to board documents. The originally proposed system quoted for the budget was $108,000 and included 12 HD cameras, outdoor wireless network and video service.
Board documents state it was found that HD "wasn't sufficient for identifying persons of interest at a distance." The approved security system will provide 17 4K resolution cameras and 3 PA speakers, an outdoor wireless network, remote mobile monitoring and a video server with the capacity for more cameras.
The Village received three quotes for the security system, and went with the middle bidder. According to board documents, they were the only company that offered a monitoring system which will alert in real-time if any components fail.
The board unanimously approved the proposal.
