Homer Glen Gives Update On 159th Street Construction

HOMER GLEN, IL — Construction continues on 159th Street, and the Illinois Department of Transportation has now changed the traffic configuration on the road. The village said the traffic configuration has been changed to stage 3, which means traffic will now use the outermost lane in each direction.

Construction will now focus on the median, according to the village. Drivers should also expect lane shifting as work is completed on the sides of the road.

The village said it is passing concerns on to IDOT to ensure that proper signage and safety measures are being taken.

IDOT estimates that all four lanes will open for traffic before Thanksgiving.
