Homer Glen Hockey Player Traded To Carolina Hurricanes

Joey Keane, a Homer Glen native, has been traded to the Carolina Hurricanes from the New York Rangers.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Joey Keane, a Homer Glen native, has been traded to the Carolina Hurricanes from the New York Rangers. Defenseman Keane went to the Hurricanes in exchange for forward Julien Gauthier.

Keane, 20, was recalled to the Rangers before the trade. The NHL said he was playing for the Hartford Wolf Pack, and ranks first in goals among all rookie American Hockey League defensemen.

According to the NHL, Keane was selected by the Rangers in the third round of the 2018 entry draft.
