Homer Glen Holds Food Drive For Lockport Food Pantry

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Village of Homer Glen is holding a food drive until March 26 for the Lockport FISH Food Pantry. For those who would like to donate, you can drop off donations in the designated trailer outside Village Hall, 14240 W. 151st St.

"The food pantry is always in need of donations," Amy Blank, communications and recreation coordinator for the Village, told Patch. "We did a food drive last April that was successful and wanted to repeat it – especially now, after the holidays, when charitable giving isn’t at the forefront of people’s minds."

Donated items need to be non-perishable, and needed items include: canned tuna in water, canned chicken breast, boxed potatoes, canned fruits, canned ravioli/spaghetti and meatballs, canned veggies (not green beans), cereal, pinto and refried beans, ketchup, and salad dressings.

The food pantry also accepts monetary donations online.
