Hope For Dog After Being Hit By Car
After an amputation and surgery, a benefit is being held for Hope the Beagle.

LOCKPORT, IL — Wish Upon A Rescue in Lockport is holding a benefit night after saving a young Beagle who was hit by a car. According to the rescue, the benefit will help raise money for the medical costs of the dog, Hope.
The benefit will be held Wednesday, July 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Culver's in Lockport. A portion of the proceeds at Culver's will be donated to the rescue if you mention seeing the flyer for Hope.
The rescue said Hope was tragically hit by a car on July 1 and was rushed to an emergency vet. Unfortunately, her owners were out of town and did not have the resources to care for her — so they requested she be euthanized. However, the staff at the vet asked for 30 minutes to try and find a rescue for her before euthanizing, as they could not see letting the dog go without a chance.

Wish Upon a Rescue President Stephanie happened to see a post seeking a rescue to step up within 30 minutes. She quickly contacted the vet clinic's staff, then went to visit and welcomed Hope into the rescue. According to Wish Upon A Rescue, Hope is the 50th animal they've rescued.
Hope's right hind leg was badly injured, and needed to be amputated. According to the rescue, her rear left hip also was injured and needed surgery. Three weeks later, Hope has come a long way, but still needs help, so the rescue is raising funds to help with her medical costs.
