Visitors Learn Through Senses At Heritage Park Herb Garden
The garden includes spearmint, peppermint, parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, chives, chamomile, cilantro and three lavender plants.

HOMER GLEN, IL — A new herb garden at Homer Glen's Heritage Park lets visitors learn about herbs and plants through touch, smell and other senses. Village Trustee Rose Reynders, who is also a co-chair of the village's parks and recreation committee, recently planted several herbs in plant boxes at the park, 14240 W. 151st St.
Reynders, who said she is an "avid gardener," is also a chef and the owner of Tazza Italian Ristorante in Homer Glen.
"I decided to take on the four boxes slated to be the sensory garden," she told Patch. "What better way to teach kids taste and smell than an herb garden."
