The brewpub will have a working brewery on display to the restaurant, an elevated patio, and a private dining room for parties or meetings.
LOCKPORT, IL — After a year of planning, Tangled Roots will open its second brewpub in Lockport. Lock & Mule, 1025 S. State St., held its ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday and is opening to the public on Thursday, according to a release from the business.
The new brewpub will offer a selection of beverages crafted by Tangled Roots brew masters and a "chef-inspired menu based around open-flame cooking on its large wood fire grill," a release from the business states.
The brewpub will have a working brewery on display to the restaurant, an elevated patio, and a private dining room for parties or meetings. Lock & Mule is the second venue to open for the Tangled Roots Brewing Company, after its first restaurant The Lone Buffalo in Ottawa.

“After the success of our original venture, the Lone Buffalo in Ottawa, we were happy to
be invited to come to Lockport. We are always looking for small towns which are thinking
big and which would welcome something exciting and different to their High Street," Scott Struchen, co-founder and chief commercial officer at Tangled Roots, said in a release.
Lockport certainly offers this opportunity; there’s a great history here for sure, and we have
drawn on that for the theme, the name and even for the interior design of the restaurant.
We think Lockport is on the move and we’re delighted to part of its story going forward.”
