Lockport Boys Golf Team Takes Third At State
The Porters finished two strokes off the first place Hinsdale Central Red Devils.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Porters Boys Golf Team took home a third place finish at the State Championships played at the Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington. According to the school, Ben Sluzas shot 68 and won the Individual State Championship to lead the Porters who claimed their first state trophy in Boys Golf since 2000 (3rd). Nolan Weis (75), Eric Gasienica (77), and John Weis (79) rounded out the scoring for the Porters.
The first day of the state tournament was rained/snowed out and the tournament was decided on the score from Saturday only.
The school said the Porters finished two strokes off the first place Hinsdale Central Red Devils and one stroke out of second place to take their third place trophy.
