Lockport Cheerleading Teams Place At State Finals
Taft, Oak Prairie and Kelvin Grove all competed in the state finals, with Taft placing the highest of the Lockport teams.
LOCKPORT, IL — Three cheerleading teams from Lockport schools placed at the state finals of small team routine cheerleading Jan. 25. Taft, Oak Prairie and Kelvin Grove all competed in the same division of the state finals, with Taft placing the highest of the Lockport teams.
According to the IESA website, Taft placed fourth in the competition with a score of 84.05. They came in just behind Normal Chiddix and ahead of Mokena.
Oak Prairie placed sixth in the finals with a score of 82.23, coming in behind Mokena and ahead of Knoxville.

Kelvin Grove placed 12th in the finals with a score of 77.88, coming in behind Bethalto Trimpe and ahead of Orland Hills.
31 teams competed in the small team routine cheerleading finals, which were held at Peoria Civic Center.
