Lockport Holiday Inn Opening Date Pushed Back
Due to the economic impact of the coronavirus, the project developer told the city that the hotel will not be able to open by Dec. 31, 2020.
LOCKPORT, IL — The planned Holiday Inn Express in Lockport will be opening later than planned. At its Nov. 4 meeting, the Lockport City Council approved an amendment to change the hotel open date from Dec. 31, 2020, to July 1, 2021.
According to council documents, the hotel is already under construction at Lockport Square, located at I-355 and 159th Street. However, due to the economic impact of the coronavirus, the project developer told the city that the hotel will not be able to open by Dec. 31, 2020 as planned.
Council documents state that the other terms of the agreement, including an economic incentive agreement, remain in place.
