Lockport Home Uninhabitable After Fire: Fire District
The district said all occupants of the home safely evacuated before the district arrived, and there were no injuries reported.

LOCKPORT, IL — A home is now uninhabitable after a house fire on Sunday in Lockport, the Lockport Township Fire Protection District said.
The district responded to a house fire at 4:12 a.m. Sunday in the 16500 block of Split Rail Drive. According to the district, crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from the rear of a large two-story home.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, but there was extensive damage and the home is uninhabitable.

The district said all occupants of the home safely evacuated before the district arrived, and there were no injuries reported.
Mutual aid assistance from East Joliet and Northwest Homer fire departments responded to the scene while Lemont, Minooka, Mokena, Plainfield and Romeoville fire departments provided
coverage in the Lockport stations.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Lockport Fire Investigators.
