Officers took Fikejs into custody. As police were walking Fikejs to the patrol car, Fikejs allegedly swore at police, saying, “You ain’t touching me or taking me anywhere.”
The prosecutor said Fikejs started running through the alley toward Mayfield across 79th Street. According to the charges, Fikejs picked up a boulder and charged police while holding it over his shoulder, then he threw it at them.
The prosecutor said after Fikejs tossed the boulder, he told police, “You’re going to have to shoot me and kill me.”

As officers attempted to get control of Fikejs, he kicked an officer in the chest and spit on him. He kicked two other police officers in the face and chest area, the prosecutor said.
Fikejs is currently on parole from the Stateville Correctional Center where he had been serving concurrent sentences for knowingly damaging criminal property, according to Illinois Department of Corrections records.
In August 2015, Fikejs was charged with throwing a brick through the windows of a Walgreens store in Burbank because he “wanted to go back to jail.”
The assistant public defender told the judge Fikejs is a graduate of Lockport High School and currently works at a Dunkin Donuts.
Throughout the rest of the bond court proceeding, loud banging could be heard from the prisoners’ lock-up at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
Felice asked sheriff’s deputies to bring Fikejs back into the courtroom.
“Are you out of control?” the judge asked him. “Why are you banging on the walls?”
Fikejs responded back using a racial slur. “You never give any f-----g breaks.”
“Don’t talk like that,” Felice said, warning Fikejs that if he continued to use profanity, he would be held in contempt of court.
“Yeah, I’m going to talk like this,” Fikejs said in court. “”F--- this court. You’re a piece of s--t in my eyes.”
Felice said he was holding Fikejs in direct contempt of court and ordered him to spend six months in Cook County Jail.
The judge also increased Fikejs’s bail from $150,000 to $300,000. Fikejs is due back in court July 22 in Bridgeview.
