Lockport Man, 21, Dies after Falling from Pole while Celebrating Chicago Cubs Win

The man was a sophomore at the University of Iowa.

A 21-year-old Lockport native died Monday after he fell from a light pole while celebrating the Cubs World Series win.

Kyle Leeney, who was a sophomore at University of Iowa, had climbed the light pole outside a bar on the Iowa City pedestrian mall. He fell and was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Chicago Tribune reports.

His cause of death has not yet been released.

He was an engineering major at the school.
