Lockport Man Charged With Possession Of Child Porn: State Police

LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport man has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, according to a release from Illinois State Police. Anthony Leonardi, 49, was arrested Wednesday after a search warrant was executed at his home, police said.
Illinois State Police investigators began their investigation after receiving information that Leonardi was "allegedly engaged in possession of child pornography," police said. During the search of his home, police said they found evidence supporting an arrest for child pornography.
According to the Will County jail log, Leonardi was released Thursday after appearing in court. Bond was issued at $150,000 with 10 percent bail.

The Diocese of Joliet released a statement Friday about a man who had been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography, and said he would not be allowed on any of the Diocese's Catholic school campuses. The Diocese said the man was a parent and an occasional volunteer at St. Dennis School in Lockport, and confirmed in an email to Patch that the man was Leonardi.
"The diocese, school and affiliated parish are not involved in the criminal investigation. In accordance with state law and diocesan policy, this matter has been reported to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services," the Diocese said. "We at the Diocese of Joliet, as well as the faculty and staff at St. Dennis, remain committed to providing a safe environment for all children under our care, and we pray for a swift resolution to this matter."
