Lockport Man Ropes Coke to Crotch: Cops

Police found the bag after performing a strip search on him.

JOLIET, IL — A Lockport man allegedly tried to hide a bag of cocaine by tying it around his penis.

Tactical officers with the Joliet Police Department saw a vehicle driven by Jaylen R. Jenkins, 23, of the 2100 block of Arthur in Lockport, make traffic violations and pulled it over at Parkwood and North Bogdan, according to JPD Captain Jeff Allbert.

“When the officers went up to the car, they saw in plain view a clear plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine,” Allbert said. Jenkins allegedly tried to grab the bag and attempted to swallow it.

“Apparently, when he tried to throw it into his mouth, he missed it and the bag of suspected cocaine went into the back seat,” Allbert said.

When officers went to get him out of the car, he tried to flee, but they took him down to the ground and arrested him, Allbert said.

Police brought Jenkins down to the station and tested the bag, which came back positive for cocaine, Allbert said. After processing, Jenkins was taken to the Will County Sheriff’s Office where he was strip searched.

“They recovered more suspected cocaine that was in a clear plastic bag tied around the shaft of his penis,” Allbert said.

The bag tied around his penis also tested positive for cocaine.

Jenkins was charged with possession of a controlled substance, bringing contraband into a prison and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
