Lockport PD Issues 118 Seat Belt Citations From Holiday Campaign
Police also issued 18 speeding citations, two distracted driving citations, and 33 other moving/equipment violation citations.
LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Police Department issued 118 seat belt citations and made one impaired driving arrest during its Fourth of July "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It Or Ticket" campaigns, according to a release from the department.
Police also issued 18 speeding citations, two distracted driving citations, and 33 other moving/equipment violation citations. According to a release, Lockport Police also made five arrests for driving without a license and one arrest for a warrant.
Lockport Police joined forces with more than 200 other local law enforcement agencies from June 17 through July 6 to get impaired drivers off the roads and encourage seat belt use, according to a release. The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities, including a media campaign.

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois
Department of Transportation.
