LTHS Board Recognizes Eagle Scout

Rory Flanagan achieved Eagle Scout status, the highest rank awarded by the Boy Scouts of America for his project with Hines VA Hospital.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School District 205 Board of Education honored senior and Eagle Scout Rory Flanagan at its Monday meeting.

Rory achieved Eagle Scout status, the highest rank awarded by the Boy Scouts of America for his project with Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, Dr. John Greenan, principal at Lockport East High School, said during the meeting.

Rory organized furniture donations, refurbished the furniture and gave it away at an event for veterans.

"Rory Flanagan has brought honor and distinction to himself, his family, school, community, scoutmasters, and Troop 32 by achieving this status and earning 30 merit badges, qualifying him for a Bronze Palm," Greene said at the meeting, reading a resolution which recognized Rory.
