LTHS Girls Bowling Team Competes At State Finals

The entire team advanced to state due to their first place performance at the Plainfield North sectionals.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School girls bowling team has qualified for the IHSA bowling state finals held Friday and Saturday. The entire team advanced to state due to their first place performance at the Plainfield North sectionals.

Lockport came in first with a score of 6,201. Senior Samantha Traina was also the individual champion at sectionals with a score of 1,336, according to the IHSA website.

The first day of the state finals was Friday, and the finals will continue Saturday at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford. As of 2:30 p.m. Friday, the Lockport team was in third place.

The team is coached by head coach Art Cwudzinski and assistant coaches Andrew McCormick and Linda Siezaga. The team roster includes Traina, junior Meghan Bacys, sophomore Isabella Colon, senior Emilie Pleshar, sophomore Emma Punter, senior Jessica Ramirez, junior Chloe Siezega and junior Payton Vandenburg.
