LTHS Plans On-Campus Prom Experience
The event, Adventure Awaits, will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
LOCKPORT, IL — For many high school seniors last year, culminating events like prom and graduation were outright canceled or modified in some way. This year, Lockport Township High School is hosting an on-campus prom experience for its juniors and seniors.
The event, Adventure Awaits, will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
"Recognizing the importance of high school experiences like prom, Lockport Township High School sought ways to hold this year’s event in the face of continuing COVID restriction," Janine Wheeler, LTHS' Director of Public Relations, said. "In March, with improved community conditions and the release of the Revised Public Health Guidance for Schools by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education, the possibility became a reality."

The event will be hosted at LTHS East, which helps provide a layor of flexibility, while keep ticket prices low, Wheeler said. It is $45 per person for the event, and attire is formal.
Different from the typical prom, Seniors and juniors will attend the event in small groups with activities spread to five stations throughout the campus. The event will include dancing, music, pictures, games and gifts.
