LTHS Recognizes Cheer Team, Eagle Scout, Drama Club
Several students and groups were honored for their various achievements at Monday's LTHS board meeting.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School Board of Education recognized Eagle Scout Brent Paller, members of The Porter Players and the cheerleading team for their respective achievements at its special board meeting on Monday.
Eagle Scout Honored
The board recognized freshman Brent Paller for achieving Eagle Scout status, which is the highest rank awarded by the Scouts BSA. To achieve this status, Paller restored a fire pit and benches at The Center in Palos Park.

Paller also served as assistant patrol leader for troop 318, and den chief for pack 372, board documents state. Paller has earned 32 merit badges.

Students Reilly Bresnahan, Aidan Callahan and Norah Gillogly, part of The Porter Players drama club at LTHS, were named to the All-Sectional cast. Bresnahan, Callahan and Gillogly, along with the ensemble, took second place in the Drama and Group Interpretation sectional at the Lockport virtual sectional in March for their performance of Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window."
The three students were also named to the All-State cast at the state tournament, board documents state.
Laura Gilbert, Kennedy Musich and Patrick Deane were directors for the show.
Cheerleading State Champions
The board recognized the LTHS co-ed cheer team for its championship title in the IHSA state finals.
Cheer members include: Jaida Bender, Alivia Czaplicki, Isabella Giertuga, Ashley Leeney, Elyssa Pickett-Klimek, Emme Sweis, Hannah Boetscher, Nya Ditter, Ava Judge, Jake McEntee, Isabella Purpura, Grady Travis, Alyssa Catemis, Nina Fiorillo, Grace Kelly, Megan Mecher, Bianca Richie, Jessica Vanerka, Alyssa Connell, Grace Gad, Amber LaMorte, Marissa Pasco, Madison Seymour and Lexi Wrona.
The team earned the championship title after virtual state finals in March.
