Ninth Street Bridge Reopened After Ice Accumulation

LOCKPORT, IL — The Ninth Street bridge in Lockport was temporarily closed Monday due to the snow and ice accumulation. The bridge reopened after IDOT salted the roadway and the bridge was de-iced, a Nixle alert from Lockport Police said.
Lockport is under a winter weather advisory until 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Mixed precipitation, including freezing rain and wet snow is possible, including light ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch, and snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
Drivers should plan on slippery road conditions, especially on elevated and untreated services, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
