Police Share Results Of Labor Day Enforcement In Lockport

LOCKPORT, IL — During Lockport Police Department's recent Labor Day enforcement campaign, the department made one impaired driving arrest and four criminal/fugitive arrests.
The department said it also wrote 30 seatbelt citations, 18 during nighttime hours, 19 speeding citations, two distracted driving citations, two driving while license suspended, and 20 other moving/equipment violation citations.
“As traffic safety partners, we do our best to make sure all drivers and other road users are safe,”
police said in a release. “While enforcement campaigns like these save lives, there is still much to be done. Please help us spread the message: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”

Lockport Police joined forces with enforcement agencies and highway safety partners throughout
the state for the enforcement effort, according to a release. The statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns are made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
