Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen Approved In Lockport
The proposal calls for a 2,454-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru south of 159th Street and east of I-355.
LOCKPORT, IL — At its July 15 meeting, the Lockport city council approved a final development plan for Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen. The proposal calls for a 2,454-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru south of 159th Street and east of I-355, according to board documents.
According to board documents, the project was originally tabled in April due to a request to divide the lot where the restaurant would be located. The city didn't want to divide the lot, as the lot could accommodate a larger restaurant or other development in the future.
Board documents state the applicant came back to the council with a proposal for an adjacent lot which would not require any dividing, and the council was in favor of the project with a vote of 6-1 with Alderman Mark Lobes as the sole 'no' vote. Alderwoman Christina Bergbower was absent at the meeting.
