Silver Cross Health Center Open House Draws Crowd to Homer Glen

Over 350 area residents attended the community Open House on April 14 at the Silver Cross Health Center located at 12701 W. 143rd St. in Homer Glen. The celebration was kicked off with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to welcome Women’s Primary Health Partners – Dr. Sunitha Avula, Roseann Horan, and Marie Veldman to the community. The all-female group, which recently relocated their office to the Silver Cross Health Center, has dedicated their practice solely to the primary healthcare needs of women.

Throughout the evening, attendees took advantage of free health screenings including: blood glucose performed by Silver Cross Outpatient Testing Center; blood pressure performed by Primary Health Associates and Dr. John McInerney, OB/GYN; incontinence performed by UroPartners; low back performed by Illinois Spine & Scoliosis Center; osteoporosis performed by the Silver Cross Center for Women’s Health; and women’s health performed by The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago at Silver Cross.

Participants also sampled and shopped several local businesses such as Betty's Baubles & Beads, Behnke Photographers, CP Meat Market, David Nelson Exquisite Jewelry, Expert Plumbing Service, Sharon Holistic Living, Jeffrey LaMorte Salon, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Premier Designs Jewelry, Princess House Products and Tranquil Cloud Temple. These are just a few of the 100 businesses that reward women with valuable discounts through the free I Matter program for taking care of themselves by getting their annual mammogram and cardiac screenings at Silver Cross Hospital. Complimentary refreshments were provided by Chesdan’s Pizzeria & Grille.
