What’s Open On Christmas 2020 In Homer Glen, Lockport

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — ‘Tis the season to celebrate — although health officials are recommending you do it virtually with those who aren’t members of your household — and most of us know what it’s like to have those last-minute holiday needs.

Several chain restaurants, grocery stores and retailers will be open in Homer Glen and Lockport on Christmas and Christmas Day.

Most banks close early on Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day.

Government offices are also closed, as well as public libraries (and many already have reduced services due to coronavirus restrictions). The Homer Township Public Library and the White Oak Library District-Lockport Branch will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

FedEx is operating on a modified schedule on Christmas Eve; hours vary by location. Post offices are closed Christmas Day but are open from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Christmas Eve.

As far as local businesses go, you are encouraged to call ahead and confirm the hours with specific locations, since times may still vary.

The holiday will also likely affect your trash collection day. Trash pickup will happen one day late in most areas.

• Boston Market: Most locations will be open, but menu items and hours vary. Offering heat & serve meals, whole pies, hot side dishes and appetizers that can be picked up on or before Christmas Day. Orders due Dec. 21.
• Buca di Beppo: Restaurants will serve Italian dishes starting at 11 a.m. This year offering a Holiday Cake Boss package serving up to five people.
• Dunkin’: Most stores open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Local store hours vary.
• Fogo de Chão: Open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Day.
• IHOP: Normally open 24/7 but some locations are operating with reduced hours.
• McDonald’s: Most open Christmas Day. Check your location online using the McDonald’s store locator.
• Morton’s Steakhouse: Hours vary by location on Christmas Day.
• Ruth’s Chris Steak House: Offering curbside pickup and delivery only in Illinois.
• Starbucks: Most are open on Christmas Day, but check your location online before heading out.

Several grocery stores have hours on Christmas Eve, but many will be closed on Christmas Day. Jewel-Osco, ALDI, Costco, Sam's Club, Target and Walmart will all be closed on Christmas Day.
