Winter Storm Interrupts First Days Of Spring

A winter storm watch has been issued for Will and Kankakee counties in Illinois.

It's not spring quite yet. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch which will go into effect Friday night through Saturday afternoon. Will and Kankakee in Illinois and Newton and Jasper counties in Indiana all fall under the watch.

According to the NWS, heavy snow is possible with this winter storm. Total snow accumulations could be between 4 to 8 inches. Travel could be difficult with the combination of gusty winds up to 35 mph and the wet, heavy nature of the snow.

The suburbs north of Will County still have the potential for 1 to 2 inches of snow, according to the NWS. There could be a large difference in snow accumulation across a small area.
