1,200 Starlings Extend Their Stay, Visit Campus Buildings Today

The Starlings Enjoy the Tops of Four Campus Buildings, 1:15-1:45pm

1,200 visiting starlings, obviously enjoying their stay in Hyde Park, extended their visit for another day today, Monday November 26th.

The flock (also called a murmuration) spent midday on top of George Herbert Jones Laboratory; Kent Chemical Laboratory; Edward H. Levi Hall; and Burton-Judson Courts. Each stop is pictured above, by my photographs.

Most (but not all) U of Chicago students who walked under the starlings on their way from lunch to class, were involved in their usual activities and did not notice the starlings!
