Dear Ashley,
Here is an issue completely unrelated to the ongoing negotiations between the nurses and the medical center ...
For a group of about 1100 mostly-longtime residents of Hyde Park, this issue is as equally impactful for them as your negotiations! The Group is: Good Neighbors <goodneighbors@googlegroups.com>
The particular suggestions relate to the Medical Center and the annual Comer Race, which occurs about 9:00am the first Sunday in October, and includes running down 57th Street.
Can you let me and us, Good Neighbors <goodneighbors@googlegroups.com>, know the name of the Medical Center's organizer for the next (2020) annual Comer Race for Kids that goes on 57th Street once a year, on about the first Sunday of October? If next year's organizer is not yet selected, perhaps you want to give me the name and email-address of the department-head who is in charge of selecting the Organizer?
Residents of Hyde Park are quite anxious to help you plan this event for next year, to the extent that it can be altered so that such things as the Sunday service at the First Unitarian Church of Hyde Park can be held as a "normal" service on Sunday October 4 2020 ... and some nearby attendees will not be completely blocked from making their way to the First Unitarian's Sunday-morning service, because of the closing of streets and such.
I also cannot more strongly urge you yourself to join this Google Forum, as well as other interested Medical Center staff, even if they do not reside in Hyde Park! An inability to communicate with your closest community, on all issues, is not a good indicator of a well-run hospital!
If you want me to copy and paste, the extensive discussion yesterday for you about this issue, here in the Good Neighbors forum, I can do that for you if you let me know.
Thank you very much for being able to share as much information to Hyde Parkers as is possible for this event, and for any happenings that impact the residents of Hyde Park.
Sincerely,
Sid Colton
