Opinion: My Draft Plan for Replacement of Treasure Island

Come to the 6:00 PM Meeting Tomorrow, 5416 S Cornell Ave!

OPINION: Here is Sid Colton's Rough-Draft of A Plan To Replace Treasure Island Hyde Park:

0. Community asks Court to seize furnishings and leave them as they are: Furnishings need to be seized in that Union Suit Against Treasure Island and given to the Employees

1. Temporary Supermarket: UofC contracts with City of Chicago to operate a temporary supermarket. Alderman Leslie Hairston is the director of the City's effort.

2. Current employees work for the supermarket

3. Crowdfunding (including our billionaires?!) fund the interim supermarket ... including 60 days back pay for employees ... paid at least once-a-week from crowdfunding-etc
4. Health insurance is restored at once in whatever way is best

SOME MORE DETAILS OF THE ABOVE
1. PERMANENT REPLACEMENT: PLAN FOR EMPLOYEES: ANY (contracted) supermarket-chain-store won't get a lease unless they agree to at least four months of employment for all 140 Treasure-Island-Employees, at the same salary they had at the end of their TI employment. Furnishings need to be seized in that Union Suit Against Treasure Island and given to the Employees.

2. TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT SUPERMARKET -- "The Phoenix Supermarket" is my suggested name.
- Recruit Mr G! / And establish a Community Advisory Board To The City & Alderman. The Alderman is the Chairman of the Board
- Recommend to Bill Gerstein the following- Consider partitioning by category for temporary food & departments until the permanent replacement is selected

3. PERSONAL SHOPPERS FOR THE ELDERLY AND NEEDY ... Organized by a designated committee or existing organization
- Rides for those who need them
- Shoppers for those who need them
- Online students to place orders for food-online for those who want to try that

Please come to Tuesday's 6:00 PM Community Meeting at 5416 S. Cornell ... pictured! -Sid
