2 Deploy Fire Extinguisher Inside Metra Station: Police
The flame retardant got on people inside the Libertyville Metra station.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Two men face criminal damage to property charges for using a fire extinguisher inside the Metra station, 200 Lake St. in Libertyville.
Alex Kadziola, of the 30000 block of North Chardon Lane in Grayslake, and Daniel Cordova, of the 19000 block of West Shore Drive in Mundelein, turned themselves into police earlier this month.
Police received a report of a fire extinguisher that had been discharged inside the Metra station on Dec. 13. When they arrived, officers found several people inside the building covered in flame retardant. They also found the flame retardant all over the inside of the building, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

After reviewing surveillance video and investigating the incident, police tied Kadziola and Cordova to the crime, according to the report.
On March 4, the 20-year-old men were cited for criminal damage to property. They were released after signing a $164 personal recognizance bond.

They are next expected in court on April 4.
