2K Six Flags Tickets To Be Handed Out At Vaccination Clinic

GURNEE, IL — A vaccination clinic will be held at Six Flags Great America this weekend. With hopes of getting more Illinois residents vaccinated, 2,000 one-day Six Flags Great America tickets will be doled out to those who receive their vaccine at the clinic, Caitlin Kepple, communications and marketing manager, told Patch in an e-mail response.

The vaccination clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Six Flags Great America, 1 Great America Parkway, Gurnee. The site will be located outside the front gate between Guest Relations and the Hurricane Harbor Chicago entrance, Kepple said.

In total, Six Flags donated 50,000 one-day tickets, which are being handed out at clinics and to those who receive the vaccine. Last month, Gov. J.B. Pritzker made the announcement regarding the free tickets. The announcement came at a time when states across the U.S. were offering freebies to try and draw more people in to receive their vaccine.

"There are so many people that are on the fence just a little bit, and I think this will push them a bit," Pritzker said during the May press conference at Six Flags.

To date, 40.54 percent of Lake County residents have received their COVID-19 vaccine.
