Attempted Armed Robbery At Libertyville Bank Drive-Thru: Police
Police said a man showed a handgun before attempting to take the bank deposit from the driver.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — An armed man attempted to rob a person in the Harris bank drive-thru on Friday morning, police said.
Local schools and some businesses enacted soft lockdown procedures after Libertyville police responded to a call of an attempted armed robbery at Harris bank at 354 North Milwaukee Ave. According to police, a man walked up to a car in the bank's drive-thru at about 9:45 a.m. Police reported the man brandished a handgun before attempting to take the bank deposit away from the driver.
Police said the attempted robber was "unsuccessful" in getting the deposit from the car and fled south of the bank on foot. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Police are looking for a 20- to 30-year-old man who is under 6 feet tall with a slight build. He was last seen wearing a red top, dark pants, a baseball hat and glasses.
