Claw Hammer Dog Killer Faces Five Additional Felony Charges

Prior to entering court Tuesday, Juan Rositas, 49, of Waukegan, faced three felony counts of animal torture and aggravated cruelty to animals. After his appearance Tuesday, Rositas had charges of armed violence, aggravated domestic violence, unlawful restraint, and intimidation and stalking, the Chicago Tribune reported.

“The new charges, all felonies, are in connection with incidents involving a family member, Assistant State’s Attorney Jason Humke told the Tribune. “Previous misdemeanor charges of domestic battery were dismissed.”

Rosita is being held on $750,000 bond.
